2006 ONLINE COMPETITION WINNER

Pat Barber of Somerset, the winner of last year’s online competition prize, is delighted with her portrait painting of herself as a child during the war years.

 

Pat says:  I have received my prize of a portrait by Simon Butler.  The portrait is stunning and I love it.  It was a wonderful prize and I wanted to say thank you very much.  This is something that I would not have instigated myself but now I have it I will treasure it for the rest of my life - it is destined to become something of an heirloom.  I chose to have a picture of myself as a child during the war.  My mother used to get regular photographs taken at 'Jerome's' in Birmingham to send to my father during WWII.  This was one of his favourites and so it has a special place in my own family history. Very many thanks.
