Over the last couple of days birth, marriage and burial  extracts from the North Barsham, West Barsham and Weybourne Archdeacons Transcripts for the surname NURSE have been added to the blog. As time go by more extracts will be added. It is hoped this blog will evenually be a source of information for other NURSE researchers.

My interest in family history began in the year 2,000 when I had to give up work through ill health and needed a hobby to occupy my sparetime. After much thought I decided to research my grandmother’s family (one of the NURSE families from Weybourne in North Norfolk) as I live in North Norfolk. What started as a hobby to pass time has now developed into an enjoyable, rewarding and sometimes frustrating passtime. Since the start of my  research I have found most people are willing to pass on  family history information and this is a policy I strongly adhere to and will always pass on to other researchers any family history information I have.nurse-map-2.JPG

THE MAIN TOWNS & VILLAGES IN NORTH NORFOLK WHERE MY NURSE ANCESTORS HAVE BEEN FOUND.

The Norfolk family History Society was the first society I joined at the start of my family history research and later I became a member of the Guild of One Name Studies and registered the surname NURSE as a one name study. At the moment I am compiling a database of Births, Marriages and Deaths for the name NURSE/NOURSE in Norfolk and any references will be appreciated. As some of the NURSE family moved North to Wallsend, Jarrow & Willington Quay in Northumberland membership to the Northumberland & Durham Family History Society was thought prudent. While one branch of the NURSE families from Weybourne moved North another branch from Kelling emigrated to Australia. There has been some fantastic information passed to me by a decendant of the NURSE emigrants living in Adelaide, Australia who is also researching the NURSE families.
