Family Tree Plus Webinars

Did you know? Family Tree Plus members enjoy monthly webinars (worth £40 per month!) that dive deep into genealogy topics, techniques, and expert tips to help you uncover your family's history. Plus, gain access to over 100 hours of on-demand video content, available anytime, anywhere, to expand your skills at your own pace!

It’s the perfect way to stay inspired, learn from the best, and make real progress on your family history journey.

What webinars and videos are included?
  • We offer three monthly webinars along with at least one bonus talk – providing you with £40 worth of genealogy advice each month (that’s an incredible £480 per year!).
  • Each regular webinar is recorded and added to your video library, which now boasts over 100 hours of video content and continues to grow every month.
What topics are covered in the webinars and videos?
  • Our monthly Study Club explores a wide range of topics, from using Ancestry to conducting one-place studies.
  • The DNA Club keeps you updated on the latest DNA news and features guest speakers.
  • We're also excited to announce the launch of a new monthly webinar focused on breaking through research brick walls.
  • Bonus webinars cover essential topics such as storing and protecting your family history, getting organised, Y-DNA, and photo dating.
How do members watch the webinars and videos?
  • Members receive an email reminder when a webinar is scheduled, so they can join live and participate in real-time discussions.
  • All the links needed to join the webinars can be found in the Family Tree Plus membership hub.
  • The membership hub also features a comprehensive video library, offering 24/7 access to recorded sessions, so you can watch in your own time and won't miss a thing.
Do I have to appear on camera during the webinars?
  • Not at all! Our webinars allow you to participate via text chat and ask questions without needing to appear on camera.
  • In our Study Club, we conduct the sessions as a 'meeting,' which gives you the option to be on camera and engage in conversation. However, if you prefer, you can simply turn off your camera and use the text chat feature to interact.
How long are the webinars?
  • Our webinars typically last around one hour, with a 30-45 minute presentation followed by time for your questions.
Do I need any special software to participate in the webinars?
  • All you need is a computer, tablet, or phone. The webinars are broadcast via Zoom, which you can join either through your web browser or the Zoom app.
Are the webinars suitable for beginners or advanced genealogists?
  • We cater to all experience levels. With over 100 hours of video content, there’s a wide range of topics to explore. Here at Family Tree, we’re dedicated to helping you uncover your family story, no matter your research experience or how long you’ve been growing your family tree.

Family Tree Plus Library

Family Tree Plus also brings you the popular monthly magazine, every month! And a growing archive of back issues, all available on-demand on your computer, tablet or smart phone.

What is the Family Tree library?
  • It's the magazine, just like the one that drops through your letterbox, but it's digital, so you can read it on your computer, tablet, or phone. The library contains the last five years of issues and it's growing every month.
  • Because it's digital you can quickly search the library and find articles relevant to your research… much easier than browsing through your print copies!
  • Similar to searching on Google, quotation marks can be used to look for a specific term or phrase mentioned in the Library. This function allows you to find specific topics quickly.
  • You can search a specific issue of the magazine, or search the entire library.
  • Once you have completed your search and found what you are looking for, you can save the results as bookmarks for future reference.

How do members access the Family Tree Library?
  • Members simply log in to their Family Tree Plus account and navigate to the digital library section. From there, they can browse, search, and read the digital issues directly from their computer, tablet, or phone.
What other benefits are there of reading the magazine online?
  • The digital editions in the Library feature live links so you can visit the websites mentioned with the tap of a button.
  • The content page also features links, so you can quickly zip to the article you want.
  • The interface also lets you zoom in so you can read the text easily and look closely at the featured documents and images.
