This November 2019, Family Tree celebrates a fantastic 35 years in the heart of the family history community!

Family Tree is celebrating a fantastic 35 years at the forefront of the international genealogy community!

The brand began life as Family Tree Magazine back in November 1984, when it was founded by family historian Michael Armstrong and wife Mary. The couple recognised the need for a ‘glossy’ genealogy magazine for fans of the growing hobby and the first issue was put together on their dining table in the small historic town of Ramsey, Cambridgeshire.

Today Family Tree is still innovating, publishing 13 magazines a year and the annual Family History Handbook, a website packed with information, news and guides, video courses and downloads through the Family Tree Academy and, of course, Family Tree Live – now entering its second year!

Family Tree Editor Helen Tovey said: ‘We’re so excited to be 35 and still helping family history enthusiasts all over the world to enjoy their hobby and learn more about their family. We want to thank all our readers, subscribers, followers and advertisers for being such an integral part of our story and we look forward to continuing with you on your forays into family history for many years to come.’
