New this year is the ‘Collections’ tool from Findmypast. You can dive in and start exploring the curated galleries of photos and newspaper clippings without a subscription even. Topics range from royal rarities, to the poison-pen ‘Littlehampton Scandal’…

"It's Pinterest for family historians," enthuses Madeleine Gilbert from Findmypast, speaking about the Findmypast Collections tool. So far well over a thousand collections have been created.

What are the Findmypast Collections?

Findmypast Collections are portfolios of newspaper clippings, collected and curated on a chosen topic. So far there are 1,275 publicly visible collections, and the topics they cover range from 'Rare glimpses of Elizabeth II over the years' to 'Operation Dynamo - the Evacuation of Dunkirk'. There are also collections that have been created for a specific surname, place or occupation. The world is your oyster when it comes to deciding on a theme for your collection.
