Create 5 second videos from still photographs of your ancestors using the latest AI assisted tool from genealogy innovators MyHeritage
Well-known for pushing the boundaries of genealogy technology, late November 2024, MyHeritage announced LiveMemory™ – the AI tool, using which you may create 5 second video clips – generated from a family history photo.
LiveMemory will animate the subjects of the photo. Even where there are multiple people or animals in a photo, each can be animated - as can vehicles. MyHeritage recommend that you will achieve more interesting results if you choose more interesting photos. For example a photo with no background has no context for the AI to work with. The AI technology will interpret the setting, the emotions, likely ages etc of the subjects to create plausible movement, interaction and portrayal.
Importantly each MP4 file generated by LiveMemory will be watermarked as having been created using AI to avoid any confusion that the clips were genuine contemporary footage.
How to find MyHeritage's LiveMemory
1. Go to https://www.myheritage.com/livememory/
2. Download the app (Google Play and the App Store) or you may be prompted, simply when you go to your MyHeritage app installed already.
3. Choose the photo you wish to animate. It may be black and white or colour. (You may wish to use MyHeritage's Colorize Photos or Enhance Photos before animating). MyHeritage will work with the file you choose. MyHeritage note 'Do not upload photos of living people without their permission'.
4. Once you've uploaded your file it can take a short time to generate.
5. Your resultant MP4 video file will not be stored on MyHeritage but will instead be emailed to you for you to download and keep in your records.
