Nikita Gill has produced a new poem, ‘Who You Are’, inspired by real-life stories found in wartime records held on Ancestry.co.uk.
The poem comes as Ancestry announces a new partnership with Imperial War Museums – over the coming years, Ancestry will digitise and add thousands of pieces of content from the museums’ rich collection to its website, providing resources for people across the UK interested to learn more about their wartime family history.
With one in five (22%) Brits keen to discover a wartime family history story, Ancestry is also offering free access to almost 2.5 billion UK and Ireland wartime records from more than 1,000 collections between 4 and 8 November.
