The IWM Film website has been upgraded to make the museum's film collection even more accessible, with keywords and extra filters making it easier for users to find content.

Registered users can save collections, create clips and request notifications when newly-digitised IWM films are uploaded that fit their search criteria. The 'constantly growing' archive extends to over 25,000 hours of moving images - including unedited combat film, official newsreels and documentaries.

Highlights of the collection include the original 1916 record of The Battle of the Somme (now granted UNESCO Memory of the World status), Academy Award-winning documentary Target for Tonight (1941), and most recently, digital born material of operations in Afghanistan.
